Wow! I almost forgot I had this blog sitting out here in bloggerville. I know...baaaaad blogger. Well I have to get my one-post-per-year out here, so here goes. An update on tri-life.
I'm still a member of the Infinite Multi-sport Triathlon club here in southeast Michigan. We have several hundred members now.
Training has been sporadic. No training plan. Mostly running, but a good mix of swim, bike, run over the last 2 months. There have been a lot of flat tires over the last few bike rides so I've changed my training ride location. There was an issue with a metal machine shop being too close to the paved trail where I was riding before. Metal shavings and road tires don't mix.
I'm signed up for the Steelhead Half coming up this weekend (Bib 1263). This will be my 3rd time racing at Steelhead. I really like the course as long as Lake Michigan cooperates on race day. I have my fingers crossed since I have a friend and co-worker coming up from Florida and its his first half ironman.
On a separate note, I've been a snow skier since I was 4 years old. My kids have taken up skiing so I decided to join the National Ski Patrol last year. Candidates require 2 years of on-hill training and one summer of medical training. I trained on-hill last year and I'm taking the medical training now. Then one more year of on-hill work and hopefully I'll be certified. The medical training is brutal, but necessary. Anyway, its a good way to stay active during the winter months.
With any luck, Steelhead will go well and I'll publish a quick race report... two posts this year. :-)
Happy Tri Racing!
